"You are using me for a green card, aren't you?"
When moving to the U.S. to build your life from scratch, right before a pandemic even, a relationship is not at the top of an immigrant's mind, the immigrant being more preoccupied with building a life, paying bills, and contributing taxes used for overseas wars. And yet, you make an exception when the relationship is truly good, and such did this relationship start... start the way to hell, paved with good intentions and predatory fiends, who look at you and see what they most need. But love is no need.
"The Immigrant Chronicles" is both a story and a commentary of contrasts: native culture and mindset clashing with the foreign; old ancestral patterns being shattered by new generations of humans; men and women in the age of chronically online dating, more pushed apart than brought together... narcissism and empathy. Chances are, there's a tidbit in here for everyone, because this story is simply Life.
